Why I became a dentist
As a child, I had many cavities and went to the dentist often. The treatments were hard, but what confused me most was that diagnoses, treatments, and costs all differed from clinic to clinic.
"Why is it so different?" "Which treatment do I really need?" Even at a young age, those questions stayed with me, and as time passed, I felt an ever-stronger desire to find the answers myself.
The confusion and anxiety I felt back then actually led me to become a dentist. Now, so that patients never have to feel what I did in those days, care you can trust is my highest priority.
Clinical Expertise
Currently, I provide comprehensive care ranging from Glownate (Laminate Veneer) and esthetic composite resin to cavity treatment and dental implants in our practice.
My goal is to help you keep teeth that function comfortably for a long time, so I don’t just look at symptoms. I consider your overall oral environment and daily habits as part of your care.
Treatment Style
If I had to sum up my style in one sentence,
Reducing pain is important, but easing your anxiety and tension can transform the entire experience. Before we start, I take time to talk, listen to what you’re feeling, and begin treatment from there.
Treatment Philosophy
The principle I value most in treatment is clear.
I ask myself this question at every clinical moment.
Because I believe we must prioritize what will keep your teeth healthy for the long term over short-term convenience or gain. So, only the treatments you truly need, precisely and with the utmost care is at the heart of my care.
Advice for Our Patients
The at-home habit I emphasize most is flossing.
For people who keep getting cavities, most occur between the teeth—the contact areas. Toothbrush bristles can’t reach there, so they’re hard to detect and tend to progress quickly.
That’s why I urge you to floss and clean between your teeth—even once a day is fine, so please make it a must. Because one small habit often prevents the need for major treatment.
Most Memorable Moment
My most memorable moment was after completing treatment for a patient, when their entire family chose to trust me and came in together.
When one person’s trust expands to their whole family, it means more to me than any single clinical result. Each time, I’m reminded of the responsibility to be “the doctor you’d trust with your family’s teeth,” and I feel the deepest sense of fulfillment as a clinician.
The Experience I Want You to Have
The experience I hope you have at Seoul BD Dental is simple.
A patient once told me, “The night before a dental visit, I can’t sleep and even get headaches.” I deeply understood how much fear they felt, and since then I’ve worked even harder to create an environment where patients can let go of that tension.
Current Areas of Focus
Lately, I’ve been focusing more on Seoul BD Dental’s signature Laminate Veneer brand, Glownate and on esthetic composite resin.
Glownate uses DSD (Digital Smile Design) to plan a smile that matches your face shape and skin tone, minimizes tooth reduction, and delivers natural, beautiful results. Pursuing both functional restoration and esthetic satisfaction, I continue to research and refine our approach so it truly improves patients’ quality of life.
A Personal Side
My colleagues describe me as "a calm, quiet person", they say. I don’t rush during treatment, and I try not to miss even the smallest discomfort. Listening quietly and observing carefully are my strengths and, I believe, the reason patients feel at ease.
Outside of work, I enjoy quietly reading or reflecting and taking time to look inward. And my greatest source of comfort is the time I spend with my dog. Just as I protect patients’ oral health, the time I spend caring for those I love also makes my life feel steady and whole.
