What inspired me to become a dentist
As a child, I watched friends hide their smiles because they felt insecure about their teeth. I realized that a single tooth can change your expression—and when your expression changes, your entire confidence can change too.
Since then, I came to believe a dentist isn’t merely a technician who treats what hurts, a profession that turns the light back on in a person’s life—that’s what I came to believe.
In front of the mirror, when a patient regains the bright smile they had lost and says "Now I can smile with ease"— those moving moments are what led me to where I am today.
Areas of Expertise
I especially focus on esthetic care for the front teeth—Glownate (Laminate Veneer), esthetic composite resin, restoring chipped front teeth and closing gaps—and I have a deep affection for these areas.
The moment a yellowed tooth regains a clear, glossy luster, the moment a long-held complex disappears and the face brightens, the moment a broken tooth’s natural shape is reborn— I feel less like a dentist and more like a sculptorat heart.
My Treatment Style
My treatment style can be summed up in one sentence.
To be honest, I don’t work fast. But I value 'a high-quality result'more. I work with relentless attention to detail so that what I treat won’t need to be redone.
For me, this slowness is a form of devotion—and responsibility—to my patients.
My Treatment Philosophy
There is one principle I consider most important in my care.
I understand better than anyone the fear of lying back with your mouth open in the dental chair. So I keep asking myself: 'If I were the one in this chair, which treatment would feel most comfortable?' 'What is the most appropriate option I could recommend to my own family?'
Since the day I first put on my white coat, this has been an unwavering principle for me.
Advice I Give My Patients
The advice I often share is simple—but it’s the most powerful.
A toothbrush can’t reach the tiny spaces between teeth. Using floss once a day isn’t optional—it’s essential, and a checkup every 6 months is effective prevention that can spare you minor pain and major costs.
Prevention is always the best treatment.
Memorable Patients
It’s hard to choose just one memorable patient. To me, every treatment is like a story.
After treatment, looking in the mirror "I can smile without covering my mouth now"said a middle-aged gentleman, and after we closed the space between his front teeth, "I can smile confidently even on stage"and a young man who shared his joy…
Those moments when they shake off their insecurities and regain their confidence— those smiles call me back to the clinic every day.
Current focus
Lately, I’ve been immersed in Seoul BD Dental’s signature Laminate Veneer brand 'Glownate'—and I am deeply focused on no-prep, conservative esthetic composite resin.
Without unnecessarily shaving down teeth worn with age, Glownate rebuilds only what’s lost with ceramic. Even front teeth chipped from wear can be restored to their original shape with no-prep Laminate Veneers. With DSD (Digital Smile Design), you can preview the result before treatment and design your most beautiful smile together with us.
A personal note
My colleagues describe me as "a perfectionist—almost to a fault—in the operatory, and a planner in everything else"they say. The sensitivity that won’t allow even small errors may well be a tiring trait. But when I’m caring for your teeth, I have no intention of setting it aside.
And surprisingly, outside the clinic I’m someone who’s completely disarmed by cute things. Seeing round, soft characters like Totoro, Moomin, or Doraemon puts me at ease, and a day full of edgy focus gently unwinds. You could call it my ‘unexpected side.’ 😊
