If they come in normally and can be kept clean, you don’t need to remove them. If they’re impacted, have a Cavity, or there’s inflammation, extraction is recommended.

It usually peaks around days 2–3 and settles within a week.

Depending on your case, we can extract Wisdom Teeth at the same time. Under sedation, extracting all 4 at once is also possible.

With adequate anesthesia, you won’t feel pain during the extraction. If you’re anxious at the dentist, extraction under sedation is also available. Mild discomfort for about 2–3 days after is common and managed with prescribed pain medication.

Most people can return to normal activities in 3–7 days. Impacted Wisdom Teeth may take about 1–2 weeks, and stitches are usually removed after 7–10 days.

It’s possible, but we usually recommend removing two on one side at a time. Taking out both sides together makes eating difficult. Under sedation, some patients choose to remove all 4 at once.

Not all Wisdom Teeth need removal. We recommend extraction when there are problems or risks such as cavities, gum inflammation, damage to neighboring teeth, or cysts. If a Wisdom Tooth is upright and healthy, it can often be kept.

With thorough anesthesia, there’s little to no pain during the procedure. You may have throbbing and swelling for 2–3 days afterward, which can be managed with prescribed pain relievers. At Seoul BD Dental, extraction under sedation is also available.

An impacted Wisdom Tooth is one that is buried in the jawbone or erupting at an angle. It’s more complex than a routine extraction and may require a gum incision and removal of some bone. Panoramic X-ray·CT scan is used to confirm the exact position before extraction.

A simple extraction is covered by Korean NHIS and is relatively low-cost. For impacted Wisdom Teeth, costs vary by difficulty; with coverage, the patient copay is in the tens of thousands of KRW. We’ll confirm your exact cost after an exam.

Most people resume normal activity in 3–7 days. Full gum healing can take 4–6 weeks. Following post-extraction instructions (cold compresses, soft foods, no smoking, etc.) helps you heal faster.

Once the numbness wears off (about 2–3 hours later), you can eat soft foods (porridge, soup) on the opposite side. Avoid hot or spicy foods for 2–3 days, and don’t use straws (to prevent dry socket).

It occurs when the blood clot dislodges after an extraction, exposing the bone complicationIt is characterized by severe pain and most often occurs 2–5 days after extraction. To prevent it, avoid using straws, spitting, and smoking, and do not disturb the area.
