We offer sedation dentistry for implants. Under sedation, the procedure is performed comfortably without pain or fear. Even with standard surgery, adequate local anesthesia means there’s no pain during the procedure.

Generally, after placement, an osseointegration period of 2-4 months is needed. If a bone graft is performed, add 3-6 months. Using Straumann SLActive can shorten this to 6-8 weeks.

Yes, it’s possible. Bone Graft (GBR GBR), Sinus Lift, block bone grafts, and other advanced Dental Implant procedures are our specialty. If another dentist said it was difficult, come talk with us.

With proper care, they can last 20 years or more. Regular checkups and good oral hygiene are essential.

It depends on the implant fixture type, whether a bone graft is needed, etc. We’ll provide exact fees after an exam, and interest-free installment plans are available. Pricing page for details.

Yes, if diabetes is well controlled. The osseointegration period may be longer, and a pre-surgical medical consult may be needed.

A dental implant does not require adjacent tooth preparation and is placed independently. Dental Bridge requires preparing both adjacent teeth and typically lasts 7~10 years. Over the long term, a Dental Implant is more cost-effective.

Yes. Dental Implants are usually made of titanium and are not affected by MRI magnetic fields.

With local anesthesia, you may drive. However, if you receive sedation for your Dental Implant procedure, please avoid driving that day and arrange for a responsible adult to accompany you.

It’s possible, but smoking increases the risk of failed osseointegration by 2~3 times. We strongly recommend quitting smoking for 2 weeks before surgery and for at least 2 months after. If quitting is difficult, please tell us during your consultation.

You may eat soft foods (porridge, soup, etc.) on the opposite side starting the day of surgery. Hard foods are okay after 2 weeks, and chewing on the surgical side is only recommended after the final crown is completed.

A Dental Implant is a treatment in which a titanium artificial screw is placed into the jawbone where a tooth was lost (the alveolar bone), and an artificial tooth (Crown) is attached on top. Because it restores function and esthetics closest to natural teeth, it is widely recognized as the best treatment for missing teeth today.

During the procedure, adequate local anesthesia is provided, so there is little to no pain. At Seoul BD Dental, Dental Implants can also be performed under Sedation Dentistry, so even those with dental phobiacan be treated comfortably. Mild swelling and discomfort may occur for 2~3 days after the procedure, but these are well controlled with prescribed medications.

In general, the lower jaw (mandible) takes about 2~3 months, and the upper jaw about 4~6 months. If a bone graft is needed, additional time may be required. At Seoul BD Dental, same-day implants (immediate placement) are also possible, and we plan the optimal treatment based on your condition.

Most adults are candidates for Dental Implants, but conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes, severe osteoporosis, or ongoing cancer treatment require prior evaluation. Even if the jawbone is insufficient, implants may be possible with a Bone Graft (GBR). A precise plan is confirmed after a CT scan and a consultation with our specialist.

For patients aged 65 and older, up to two Dental Implants in a lifetime are covered by Korean NHIS. The patient share is about 30% (around 500,000–600,000 KRW), and for low-income beneficiaries it is 10%. For those under 65, Dental Implants are non-covered (out-of-pocket); exact fees are provided during consultation.

On the day of the procedure, it’s best to eat soft foods (porridge, soup, etc.) on the opposite side. Regular meals are generally possible after about 1~2 weeks, and after the final restoration is placed you can eat nearly all foods. However, it’s best to avoid hard ice or bones—even with natural teeth.
