Dr. Minji Kang’s story

A Conservative Dentistry specialist dedicated to preserving natural teeth

Why I became a dentist

Although the oral and maxillofacial system is part of the human body, it is a domain that encompasses everything from our most basic survival needs to the higher desire for aesthetics.

Comfort while eating, naturalness when speaking, and the beauty revealed in a smile are all determined within this small space. I found that incredibly compelling. I wanted to become a dentist who could professionally care for this area where the visible and invisible are closely connected, and that is how I chose my path.

Clinical expertise

As a restorative and endodontic specialist, I consider preserving natural teeth my highest mission.

Because saving even a single tooth is directly connected to a patient's quality of life, every moment of treatment is intense, but the sense of reward is just as great.

Since my residency, I have steadily built experience and know-how in Root Canal Treatment through countless cases.

Treatment Style

If I were to describe my treatment style in one sentence,

"Swift and precise care—without ever compromising quality"

I know well that dental visits can be burdensome because you have to keep your mouth open for a long time, so I always stay focused to minimize chair time. But fast never means hasty. To avoid unnecessary pain or failure, I carry out every necessary step precisely and to standard.

Treatment Philosophy

What I value most can be summed up in one thing.

Sincere care for patients.

The more I practice, the more I realize that a doctor's attitude and mindset are half of the treatment. To make sure the time you entrust to me is never wasted, I always choose the most conscientious care I can provide.

Advice for Patients

I always emphasize cleaning before bed and using dental floss because the spaces between teeth that a toothbrush can't reach are the areas most prone to inflammation.

Even if it's hard to do in the morning or at lunchtime on a busy day, please take the time in the evening to use dental floss and interdental brushes.

A small habit can make a big difference in keeping your teeth for the long term.

A Memorable Case

In restorative and endodontic care, even a small decision can change the fate of a natural tooth. Recently, a tooth that was nearly scheduled for extraction due to apical periodontitis underwent Root Canal Treatment successfully, and an X-ray taken three months later showed the inflammation had almost completely resolved.

"I really want to avoid extraction"—because I understood the patient's earnest wish, that recovery became a moment I'll remember for a long time.

Current Interests

Recently, Regenerative Endodontic Treatment has been my focus of study. This treatment induces regeneration of apical tissues when the pulp of an immature permanent tooth is damaged, enabling approaches beyond the limits of conventional care. I continue learning so that we can offer better options to our patients at Seoul BD Dental.

On a Personal Note

My colleagues often describe me as "reliable" and "deeply responsible". I don’t take the trust I receive as a doctor for granted; I accept it all the more seriously. Each person’s teeth are not just structures—they’re part of life, and I never forget that my role is to help protect that life.

Outside the clinic, time with my children makes up most of my everyday life. Raising children teaches me every day how precious and delicate life is, and how warm relationships can be. This experience is reflected directly in my approach to care.

I hope patients who visit Seoul BD Dental feel that

"I can be at ease here"

—a deep sense of trust.
The confidence that skilled clinicians are doing their best, and a sense of comfort.
My goal is to make sure you leave with those two things—clearly and confidently.

Doctor Interview Q&A

Dr. Minji Kang answers frequently asked questions

Why is Root Canal Treatment necessary?

It’s needed when a cavity progresses deep enough to infect the tooth’s internal nerve (pulp), or when trauma damages the pulp. Root Canal Treatment removes the infected tissue and allows the tooth to be preserved. Without treatment, the inflammation can worsen and may eventually require extraction.

Do I really need a Crown after Root Canal Treatment?

In most cases, yes, we recommend it. A tooth that has undergone Root Canal Treatment becomes weaker and more prone to fracture over time, so covering it with a Crown is very important for longevity. We’ll guide you individually based on your tooth’s condition.

Do we have to save the tooth? Can’t I get a Dental Implant?

A Dental Implant can certainly be a good treatment option. However, if your natural tooth can be saved, it’s best to preserve it. Natural teeth have unique function and sensation that an implant cannot fully replicate. After an accurate diagnosis, we’ll discuss personalized options together.

Any message you’d like to share with patients?

Once a natural tooth is lost, it can’t be brought back. If you feel even slight discomfort or notice something unusual, please don’t delay—visit us. Finding problems early greatly increases the chance of saving the tooth. With genuine care for our patients, I promise attentive, conscientious treatment.
